4.35 pm: Twenty two wickets have fallen today, 27 is the all-time record. South Africa need 236 to win this Test. Given what has happened, it seems an improbable task. But how they have roared back into the game. They will take it. They were finished after Australia had taken a first-innings lead of 188. A chase of 400 seemed likely. Not they have to chase only 236. They will take it.

Prakash: "What amazes me most that how come Clarke managed to score 151 on this pitch where the two innings today yielded less than that,to be precise 143 runs"

Michael: "Can someone just tell me if it's the pitch that is playing bad or is it just great bowling?" This pitch is not easy to bat on. There is swing, there is seam and there is bounce. It isn't outrageous though. The bounce isn't uneven and it isn't two-paced. The bowling has been terrific, but some of the shots have been poor. Hussey's and Haddin's in particular.

Paul: "Interesting to note that this'll be the 8th instance in test history of no. 11 top scoring."

Sajan: "Opening batsman picks up most wickets. Bowler #11 top scores. bizarre"

The lowest total for a team winning a Test is 45.

Steyn to Lyon, OUT, caught at cover, it's all over. Again. Lyon simply chips a good length ball in the air towards AB, who moves forward and dives to take a low catch. Australia have been shot out for 47.

Morkel to Siddle, no run, South Africa have asked for a review for a caught-behind appeal that was given not out. Morkel is certain, but only he appealed. Siddle had backed away and come down the pitch to swat the ball through the off side. He missed and the ball was collected by Boucher, who did not appeal. Hot Spot will be needed. The slow motion replays don't reveal an edge, there is a small noise, very faint. There are no Hot Spot replays available for some reason. TV commentators say because "it is out of range". It remains not out, Siddle can bat on.
