Ammad: "Pakistan need to get over this obsession with Wahab Riaz . More often than not, he is quite poor spraying around the ball at pace without changing speed or line/length. His good days are not often enough or good enough to change the game"

omer: "in 2nd T20I wahab bowled superb 19th over and won it for pakistan ...Today his last over can proved costly for pakistan ...44 runs in 4 overs in low scoring encounters could be diff b/w win and loss .."

hafeez: "9 sixes & 5 fours in the W.I innings.. Exactly equal to Lewis's boundries last night.."

Kishore: "Well it's a score to defend, but as long as Pakistan don't give badree and narine too many wickets it should be a walk in the park"

2.03pm And that's the innings. It's a wonder West Indies made it. At one point, they looked determined to be bowled out. In the end, it was a superb innings from Brathwaite. He was the only one who looked in control for them. And so, despite a great individual performance, his team has made only 124.
Rumman made a fabulous comeback to the national team, and Shadab's tale continues to be one of success. But the world will do great injustice to Hasan Ali if he isn't the Player of the Match today. It would take a true miracle from a West Indian bowler to outdo what he has done today. Tied up two top order batsmen, got both of them, before running out another. That mid-way collapse has his signature on it in the scorecard. We'll be back soon for the response.

19.6
1
Hasan Ali to Brathwaite, 1 run, full and wide outside off, in the slot again, thick inside edge that slams into the ground and bounces wide of Sarfraz, to his left
19.5
1
Hasan Ali to Badree, 1 run, and at long last, he goes for the single. Walks across the stumps, pushes it past Hasan who dives to his right. Brathwaite was running since yesterday.
19.4
0
Hasan Ali to Badree, no run, back of a length outside off, swings wildly across the line, beaten again
19.3
0
Hasan Ali to Badree, no run, this was in the slot, full outside off, and a better batsman might have fancied six runs. As it turns out, Badree swats away from the body and is beaten on the inside edge

Benny: "As an English fan, I am very happy that Brathwaite has a new High score!"

19.2
1
Hasan Ali to Brathwaite, 1 run, inswinging yorker at off stump, can't get under this, squeezed out to long-on
19.1
0
Hasan Ali to Brathwaite, no run, full toss outside off stump, nicely in the slot to club this through the covers, but the slight inswing messes with his connection and he finds the fielder there

END OF OVER:
19 | 13 Runs 1 Wkt | WI: 121/8 | RR: 6.36

  • Carlos Brathwaite35 (21b)
  • Wahab Riaz4-0-44-1
  • Rumman Raees4-1-25-1
18.6
W
Wahab Riaz to Narine, OUT, Wahab takes a wicket at the end of a painful spell. If length won't do it, pace will. This is back of a length, angled in at leg stump and smashes it down comprehensively as Narine searches for room to slap it on the up

SP Narine b Wahab Riaz 9 (9b 0x4 0x6) SR: 100

18.5
1
Wahab Riaz to Brathwaite, 1 run, low full toss at off stump, once again this is right out of the middle. A slice. But straight to sweeper cover
18.4
2
Wahab Riaz to Brathwaite, 2 runs, wow, you don't want to hear that sound as a bowler. Back of a length at off stump, hangs back and bludgeons this wide of long-off
18.3
4
Wahab Riaz to Brathwaite, FOUR, this time, he knows what the line is going to be. He's still not reached it, but he's closer to this wide ball outside off. Thick outside edge flies to the third man boundary
18.2
0
Wahab Riaz to Brathwaite, no run, good length, wide outside off stump. Not a great length, but there's enough pace to beat him as he reaches out and tries to bunt it through third man
18.1
6
Wahab Riaz to Brathwaite, SIX, this is the Brathwaite we were commanded to remember not so long ago. Good length ball at middle stump, stands his ground, watches it closely and that is a perfectly executed slog over midwicket. Not a single blemish in that shot, and that's not something you say about a slog.

END OF OVER:
18 | 13 Runs | WI: 108/7 | RR: 6.00

  • Sunil Narine9 (8b)
  • Carlos Brathwaite22 (16b)
  • Rumman Raees4-1-25-1
  • Wahab Riaz3-0-31-0
17.6
2
Rumman Raees to Narine, 2 runs, low full toss, tailing in at leg stump. Clears the front leg and punches this between long-on and deep midwicket. That ball is racing away towards the boundary as those two fielders converge on it. Deep midwicket puts in a dive eventually and long-on backs up
17.5
1
Rumman Raees to Brathwaite, 1 run, yorker at leg stump, flicked straight to square leg
17.4
1
Rumman Raees to Narine, 1 run, full outside off stump, gets to the pitch and slices it square on the off side to find the fielder in the deep
17.3
2
Rumman Raees to Narine, 2 runs, inswinging yorker at leg stump, flicked off the toes to long-leg's left
17.2
1
Rumman Raees to Brathwaite, 1 run, low full toss, tailing in slightly at leg stump, flicked to deep midwicket

And that, my friends, is why we were discussing the good length.

17.1
6
Rumman Raees to Brathwaite, SIX, glorious. Slower ball, back of a length at off stump, stands tall and slaps this over long-on. Off the middle, full swing of the bat.

END OF OVER:
17 | 9 Runs | WI: 95/7 | RR: 5.58

  • Carlos Brathwaite14 (13b)
  • Sunil Narine4 (5b)
  • Wahab Riaz3-0-31-0
  • Shadab Khan4-0-16-2
16.6
1
Wahab Riaz to Brathwaite, 1 run, low full toss, but it's a slower ball and he has to reach away from his body to tap this to short third man, who also seems to be beaten by a slower ball as he fumbles
16.5
4
Wahab Riaz to Brathwaite, FOUR, oh good ball. Unfortunate. This is full at off stump, he gets very late reverse swing away from the right handed who has tried to flick this. Leading edge flies between backward point and short third man

We're now past 10 overs worth of dot balls in this innings

16.4
1
Wahab Riaz to Narine, 1 run, back of a length at the mid-riff, backs away and slices to sweeper cover
