9.35pm A good finish for both sides, in some way. After Virat Kohli got out, KKR pulled things back very well, but Mandeep's cameo has helped RCB put up 176 for 7. AB de Villiers, though, owned that innings with a superb cameo. Brendon McCullum and Virat Kohli also helped improve their platform, but they lost some momentum and impetus towards the end. I'm saying advantage KKR.

This could be an interesting second innings, join us soon.

Vinay Kumar to Woakes, OUT, a nice slower ball and Russell will take the catch! Two wickets in two balls to finish the over. Woakes is through the shot too early, the ball takes the lower half of the bat and lobs to cover. Russell runs back and takes a good catch.

W
Vinay Kumar to Mandeep Singh, OUT, taken on the deep sweeper cover boundary. Full and wide, Mandeep slices the ball off the outside half to the fielder. Just a little more power and that would have been another six. A very tidy cameo from Mandeep, the impetus is now there.

Mandeep Singh c Kuldeep Yadav b Vinay Kumar 37 (18b 4x4 2x6) SR: 205.55

Vinay Kumar to Mandeep Singh, no run, indeed, yes, a wide yorker outside off. Jammed back to the bowler. Vinay hurls a throw back to Mandeep in utter frustration.

Back around the wicket, could be wide yorkers?

19.3
6
Vinay Kumar to Mandeep Singh, SIX, six more! Back of a length around off, Mandeep clears his front leg and pulls easily over midwicket. Right in the slot. That's poor end-overs bowling.
19.2
4
Vinay Kumar to Mandeep Singh, FOUR, four more. A low full toss down leg, Mandeep helps himself to four more runs with a neat flick over short fine leg. Can't bowl a full toss at this stage.
19.1
6
Vinay Kumar to Mandeep Singh, SIX, full on middle and leg, Mandeep clears his front leg and goes boom, way over long-on for six. Shot.

Can RCB eke out 175? Vinay Kumar to bowl the first and last over

END OF OVER:
19 | 6 Runs 1 Wkt | RCB: 160/5 | RR: 8.42

  • Mandeep Singh21 (13b)
  • Chris Woakes5 (4b)
  • Mitchell Johnson4-0-30-1
  • Sunil Narine4-0-30-1

33 off 27 balls since Kohli's dismissal, that's woefully under par on this ground.

1
Johnson to Mandeep Singh, 1 run, falls short of fine leg. A short delivery down leg, pulled away with bad timing to short fine leg.
18.5
1
Johnson to Woakes, 1 run, back of a length outside off again, carved away to deep backward point. Just one. Losing all momentum.
18.4

Johnson to Woakes, no run, beaten for pace! Back of a length on off, the angle and the pace is too good for Woakes as the ball creeps between bat and pad.
18.3
4
Johnson to Woakes, FOUR, full and wide outside off, Woakes opens the bat face and carves the ball through point for four. Sensational ball-striking, knew his area, didn't overhit.

This has been some comeback from KKR, recovering excellently from that AB innings.

Johnson to Woakes, no run, back of a length around off, the ball beats the bat as Woakes looks to defend.

Woakes, a decent striker.

18.1
W
Johnson to Khan, OUT, taken at long-on! Sarfraz picks out the fielder. That was a stumbling, stalling innings. Full outside off, Sarfraz mis-times a lofted drive down the throat of long-on. Kohli isn't happy Sarfraz didn't go through with the shot.

SN Khan c Singh b Johnson 6 (10b 0x4 0x6) SR: 60

It would make sense for RCB to give maximum strike to Sarfraz in this situation. His Smart Strike Rate is 213.28 compared to Mandeep's Smart Strike Rate of 118.22

Narine to Khan, 1 leg bye, big appeal from Dinesh Karthik! Back of a length around middle and leg, Sarfraz looks to reverse-paddle the ball, the ball hits Sarfraz a little high also, on the front thigh. KKR don't review.
17.5
1
Narine to Mandeep Singh, 1 run, another carrom ball outside off, driven to deep cover for a run
17.4
4
Narine to Mandeep Singh, FOUR, fine and four. Another poor delivery, strays down leg, just nudged down to the fine leg boundary. Vital runs these.
17.3
1
Narine to Khan, 1 run, a sweep to deep midwicket. A carrom ball, he doesn't even bother reading it, just cross bat.
17.2
1
Narine to Mandeep Singh, 1 run, the swerve of a carrom ball outside off, chopped to cover
17.1
4
Narine to Mandeep Singh, FOUR, a poor ball, short and down leg, Mandeep helps it along to the fine leg boundary. Errant line, easy put-away

Last two overs, just 10 runs. The momentum is out. Narine will finish. A mystery spinner bowled the 18th over of the first innings of the first match today also.

16.4
