9:30pm Right. Two ways of looking at this. RCB have nearly 30 more than the average score at the MCA Stadium, but 20 short of what Virat Kohli would have liked. It seems like RCB have played way too many shots for 185. Kohli struggled for timing in pockets, but de Villiers was sublime. Considering Ishant and M Ashwin were expensive, it was a surprise that R Ashwin bowled just three overs. Thisara was superb with his execution of slower deliveries and yorkers. Wonder if Pune Supergiants would have taken this score at the toss
Harsh: "Virat just said that AB is the best batsman in the world. I'm pretty sure AB thinks the same about Virat. Virat's unmatched consistency puts him a notch higher than AB in my opinion."
M N Joules: "Man I have never seen winning Toss being so very critical before.. it has brought some serious pressure and fear on captains' minds even if they are defending a decent target on a wicket which is not a complete batsmen paradise either.. Specially Virat who thrives on chasing and believes any target is a good target to chase. "
Virat Kohli: We decided that I'll play the role of an anchor, while ABD and Watto express themselves. I'm not happy with the way I batted today. I thought I could have used 10 balls lesser. M Ashwin has variations, so we wanted to have the upper hand against him. ABD kept cheering me, he said my role was as important as his. If we bowl smartly, we can defend it.
